The Rangers had a pretty good season this Spring. They had 5 wins, 3 losses and 1 tie. Then in the after season tournament, they got to play 2 games in which both ended up in ties. When the game ends in a tie, the team that makes more outs in the game is considered the winner and advances in the tournament. Last night's game was pretty exciting because we only lost by one out..but more than that because they boys played really well. It has been so much fun watching both Enriquito and Gerardito grow in their hitting, fielding and just plain love of the game.
Here are some little clips I got from the game for your viewing pleasure.
Gerardito's first at bat. He makes it to first when the pitcher overthrows it to the first baseman. But then notice the kid coming from the outfield chasing him down and getting him out right before he gets to second.
In the first inning, Gerardito played 3rd, a position he rarely plays. It was so cute to watch him field the ball..
This was a funny little shot of our team in the first inning...see if you can count how many players the ball got past!
Our second at bat was kind of tough because we started off the inning early with 2 outs and no one on base. We somehow came out of that inning with our five runs before they could ever get the 3rd out. Enriquito played his part by bringing in all the runners with this hit!
Now all we have left are Closing Ceremonies on Friday and Team Party next Thursday!
