Mami, es Bach!

You might remember, a little over a month ago , my boys were dancing to Mozart. And though they had heard some classical music before through various DVD's like Baby Einstein and Little Einsteins, I had never really just played the music for their listening enjoyment until then. And I was quite surprised when Enriquito took quite a liking to it and was asking for more. So I gave the boy more. In the beginning, mostly Mozart and Vivaldi. I had a CD of Vivaldi in the van and it was all we listened to for a while (per his request). And then I decided to just download all my classical music onto my computer so they could listen to it while they played.....not a huge selection but aside from the two composers I've already mentioned, we also have Bach, Strauss, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Wagner and Chopin.

Well, today he asked me to put in the "classical mix" on Itunes. I was amazed at how even though he hasn't been listening to the other composers very long, a song would start playing and he would identify the composers...I wasn't surprised when he could easily identify Vivaldi and Mozart, but when he busted out with , "Mami, es Bach!" , I had to check what was playing and much to my surprise say, "Tienes razon, mijo!"

There are times when Enriquito will ask me, "Mami, me tocas la de (will you play the one that goes) bmm bm bmm bm bmm bm bm bm bm" Well, classical music and bm bmm's don't go over to well with me. I need to start teaching him the names of the various symphonies and concertos and so on and so on. Hmmm..looks like I've got some learning to do!

That's awesome! I guess I need to go out and get some classical music. That's wonderful that Enrique enjoys it so much!

Veronica,
You're going to be a natural at homeschooling! And Enrique will pass the 4th grade end of the year music test with flying colors!! What a head start!

Kolbe likes to call Bach's "Toccata and Fugue" the Halloween music. His favorite letter is /Bb/ and often sings the same as Enrique.
